Female Team Leader – Palmerston North-Based

• Full-time position, 80 hours per fortnight
• Permanent role based in Palmerston North
• The hourly pay ranges from $31.60 to $34.14, depending on relevant qualifications in Health and Well-being

 

We are looking for a committed Team Leader to join our team in Palmerston North Residential. At Community Connections, we are driven by our passion for empowering disabled individuals to live the lives they choose, working together as a community.

About the role

In this hands-on leadership role, you will work closely with the Service Delivery Lead to support a small team and ensure high-quality, person-centred service delivery.

You will provide direct support, assist with rostering, team communication, documentation, and day-to-day coordination, while helping maintain a safe and positive home environment.

You will also support the person to build independence, stay active, participate in the community, and enjoy meaningful activities. This role requires someone who is physically fit, organised, and confident working collaboratively with family/whānau and other professionals.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with:

• Day-to-day service coordination
• Staff orientation and shift handovers
• Rostering and arranging relief cover
• Team communication and practical guidance
• Quality monitoring and service documentation
• Progress notes, reporting, and other administrative requirements
• Due to the personal cares involved in this role, and to protect the dignity, privacy, and comfort of the person being supported, this position is open to female applicants only. This is a genuine requirement of the role.

 

About You:

You bring a calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to your work and are confident building respectful relationships while supporting independence, wellbeing, and community connection.  You communicate clearly and confidently, are comfortable working collaboratively with a team, and can respond effectively to changing situations.

You have strong organisational and problem-solving skills, and take a proactive, practical approach to supporting day-to-day service delivery. You’re confident supporting others to build independence, wellbeing, and community connection, while maintaining professional boundaries.

 

Essential requirements:

• Full driver’s license
• Level 3 or 4 qualifications
• A minimum of two years of experience in a support role
